Satsuki Katayama, Minister of State for the Promotion of Overcoming Population Decline and Vitalizing Local Economy in Japan, Kenji Shuto, the Special Assistant to the Governor, Kanagawa Prefectural Government and Tsuneo Suzuki, the Mayor of Fujisawa City, visited the Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (\u201cFujisawa SST\u201d) on December 15, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Their visit to Fujisawa SST was realized since Kanagawa prefecture was selected as 1) one of \u201cfuturistic cities of SDGs\u201c out of 29 autonomous bodies in total, announced on June 15 by the Cabinet Office after their invitation for application; and 2) at the same time, selected as one of the \u201cAutonomous community\u2019s Model Projects (10 projects are selected here)\u201d which are regarded as more pioneering projects among \u201cfuturistic cities of SDGs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They visited our office of the Town Management company model house and the \u201cWellness SQUEARE\u201d, the complex facility for the Health, Wellness, and education.<\/p>\n<p>* SDGs: abbreviation for \u201cSustainable Development Goals\u201d.<br \/>\nThis was adopted by the UN (United Nations)\u2019s unanimous approval in 2015.
