Fujisawa Sustainable Smart Town (hereinafter called as “Fujisawa SST”)’s efforts to make “Wellness SQUARE South Hall” which was opened in September 2016 as a complex for elderly housing and childcare facility and so on was highly appreciated. As a result, Fujisawa SST was awarded the Year 2017 Kanagawa Global Environment Award for Global　Warming　Countermeasures Plan. The presentation ceremony was held on February 5, 2018.

Kanagawa Global Environment Awards are to be given to the individual or group whose efforts are eminent in protection of global environment. Kanagawa prefecture and KANAGAWA Geoenvironmental Assessment Council started this award from the year 1917.

Wellness SQUARE South Hall is equipped with Light Court which takes in the natural air and sunlight through the courtyard and the blow-by. The hall, in addition, is equipped with the photovoltaic facility, the gas cogeneration system, the in-house total LED lighting system and so on to sufficiently utilize natural energy and the high-efficiency technology.

Further, the hall is introducing the energy management system which can control the energy for the management of its operation. As a result, it got the “S-rank” which is the best ranking in Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE) of Prefectural Plan System for Global　Warming Countermeasures in Buildings.

Fujisawa SST, as Fujisawa SST Council, has been awarded the year 2015 Kanagawa Global Environment Awards for “Kanagawa Smart Energy Planning”.
