On Jan 21th, at The World Bank Tokyo Development Learning Center in Hibiya, we(Panasonic) participated in a international conference which was hosted by The World Bank, and was co-sponsored by Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism(MLIT) , as a representative of Fujisawa SST project organizer.

The main theme of the conference was “A sustainable development through Quality Infrastructure Investment”, and we joined a session with a theme of “Addressing Environmental Sustainability through Quality Infrastructure”. Through a TV conference, Fujisawa SST project was introduced to the attendees from all over the world.

A variety of challenges toward location, relationship between countries, environmental sustainability, employment to build quality infrastructure were picked up, and discussion for ensuring sustainable quality infrastructure was held between attendees from different countries with different cultures.

Fujisawa SST town development which is lead by private organization really interested the attendees, so we got a lot of questions from them. Also we received a favorable comment “In addition to quality infrastructure, we fully agree to the concept focusing on quality of the service”
